In the creation of good design, time-honored principles come into play, but style too influences the final outcome. A good design in one industry may not work as expected in another. And, as times change, design values change as well.
The websites and logos and magazine ads found here all reflect a unique and important aspect of the client's image. It is more challenging to work with the customer's vision than impose a set of the designer's preferences. The goal is to create materials that are effective as a complete presentation package.
Design is much more than aesthetics. Design creates value. That value is easier to measure by its absence than its presence. When something seems excellent and you cannot easily identify the reason for it, good design is probably behind your impressions.
